Appointments may be made by calling 453-6200 during regular business hours. Every effort will be made to arrange for an appointment on that day or within 24 hours for problems requiring prompt attention. If you make an appointment and find it neccessary to make a change, please call the office so that we may better serve the needs of our other patients.
All patients are encouraged to call about any question they have about medical problems; however, it would be most unfair to our office patients if the doctor personally answered every telephone call. The office staff has been trained to answer many of your questions and will be happy to help you. If you are calling about an urgent medical poblem, you may be asked to come to our office. Non-urgent calls that require discussion with your physician will be returned by him during regular callback times or between patient appointments.
Phone calls received after normal office hours or on weekends will be answered by the answering service and forwarded to your physician or the physician who is on call for them. Your call should be returned promptly.
We recongnize that medical emergencies can occur, and we will do our best to respond to your problem promptly. A life threatening emergency requires prompt attention in fully eqipped emergency room. Give the emergency room personnel your physician's name so your doctor can be contacted.
Requests for prescription refills should made by having your pharmacist contact us during our office hours. Please allow 3 working days for refills.
Because your physician cannot be on-call at all times, coverage by another physician is sometimes required. Any problem that occurs when your doctor is not available will be taken care of by this colleague, who also specializes in General Internal Medicine. This physician will then report back to your doctor about any patient problems that need follow-up care.
Your physician has admitting privileges to those hospitals listed on the main page. If hospitalization is required, we will be happy to discuss any specific arrangements that need to be addressed.
Hospitalized patients are seen daily.
